Writing from Nigeria at last!

Hello everyone! I'm so sorry it has been so long. I was able to email a few days ago, but was having trouble accessing the web page. Now, thank God, it looks as if I'm going to be able to write to you.
Well, I've been in Nigeria for one week now, and it has been quite a week. My first few days were marked by being tired and unsure of my new environment. Culture shock means a lot of things. I found myself being completely overwhelmed by even the most benign things... like going to Mass. Now I'm doing much better. I'm starting to get involved at the school, and I'm making friends. I'm able to hear myself think again, and I'm sure my blood pressure is back down to a normal rate. Thankfully, the people here have been very understanding and willing to listen to my questions and make me as comfortable as possible.
I miss you all!
-angela
ps. I should be able to write to you about once a week now, barring any problems with internet service on my end. Pictures may not be possible, but we'll see!
God Bless You!

I can't even imagine how extreme the culture shock must be but I'm glad to hear you're adjusting so quickly. I look forward to those weekly updates!

Yeah!!!! How wonderful to hear from you. I imagine you were exhausted. You traveled for almost 48 hours! Cannot wait to hear from you weekly and we'll be asking for the intercession of ...who IS the patron saint of the internet?? hmmm, well, I am amazed by the stories of hospitality that you have shared in the past and I know you'll have some good ones for us in the future.
We all miss you.

Hi Angela - what a wonderful site. This is just awesome. I too can't imagine how extreme the culture shock must have been for you. Remember to call of St. Teresa, The Little Flower (patron saint of missionairies) for strength and guidance. Also, the patron saint of the internet is Isidore of Seville. Can't wait for the weekly updates and more picutures.
