This picture is WAY out of order! This is when my friend Ann picked me up from the airport in Budapest. Many thanks to Ann's team members who provided me with a coat, scarf, gloves, hat, boots, and sweaters!!! (I arrived in Budapest in jeans, a t-shirt, and flipflops!!!

Dear Angela,
This is your Aunt Ellen, and I'm so delighted to read all your news and posts -- thanks for sending the e-mail so I would know how to find your blog spot! You are so beautiful, and I just love knowing you are serving the Lord in these precious people. It just sounds wonderful to me, especially the part about nothing and nobody being on time -- I could handle that! We even have our share of scary big cockroaches in Richardson -- I'm too squeamish to kill them, though; we sweep them outside.

Your Uncle Carl and your cousins and I are doing well and looking forward to a low-key Christmas. Last year my mom came and two years ago we went to Phoenix -- long drive -- so this year is just Christmas at home. I thought about a quick trip to Houston, where we lived 7 years ago (wow, that's been awhile), but I don't think the van transmission is up to a big road trip. Of course, once you get on the highway, you're just rolling along in the same gear, right...?

I'm working almost full time for the pro-life committee now, helping moms and also raising funds to keep all our ministries going. Pray my efforts will be fruitful and that people will know the blessing of sharing their abundance to save the helpless unborn!

Love you and miss you,
Aunt Ellen

ang! these pictures are great! you look awesome and happy (and like a native in your new outfit). about the roaches- that's disgusting, although i've become quite comfortable with large spiders and mice. they like to live with me, apparently. roaches are a different, nasty thing.

i'm home for christmas now- hopefully i can return sometime soon after you get back so we can catch up on everything. generally speaking, life is good (of course). virginia is cold, but bearable, and the job and new friends are excellent. merry christmas (i'm praying for you), happy new year, and john's beard is AWESOME. he looks a ton like your dad.

love you!
gaudium cum pace, jane.
